X-Men edition. Fairly Cyclops-intensive. I don't remember where I gacked this one from...

One True Pairing Ship: Much as I resist thinking in OTP terms, I guess given the amount I write about them, I’ve got to say Scott/Logan.

Favorite Canon Ship: Scott/Jean. I think they’re great together, and if my Scott weren’t gay, well, they’d still be together.

"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship: Scott/Emma. Yes, I know it has happened. I’m in denial.

"You are one sick bastard" Ship: Charles/Scott. I’ve never read a believable one. I think they have a really intense and complicated relationship and I like to see lots of variations on it, but I can’t see them as lovers.

"I dabble a little" Ship: Scott/Warren. I like them together, but I think I like them more as friends than as lovers.

"It's like a car crash" Ship: Charles/Erik. Good guys and bad guys really shouldn’t get together.

"Tickles my fancy but not sold quite yet" Ship: Logan/Rogue. It’s enormously popular; it’s got canon basis; I can see the appeal, and yet... I don’t think so.

"Makes no canon sense but why the hell not" Ship: Marvel/DC crossover ships, in general. Of course they make no canon sense, but I think they’re a fun idea.

"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship: Logan/Rogue. See above.

"When all is said and done" Ship: I’m back to Scott/Logan

This would be the "I'd stab my eyes out with a spork" relationship for me. I realize that Rogue is different in the comics, but in the movies she's a KID. Logan's a grown-up, and he has vowed to protect her. From pedophiles as well as evil mutants, I'd take that to mean.

Even if she's of age, I'd still say...yuck. Their relationship in the movies is too close to father-daughter for me to be comfortable with something romantic going on between them. I guess I see him as a surrogate father to her. A surrogate father would not fuck his daughter. Ick.

As soon as I see a Logan/Rogue label on a fanfic, I move on. No way am I gonna read one.

Have you seen the parody script? Sample:

ANNA PAQUIN
I am a mutant too! You should take
me under your wing as a pseudo
father figure for my dejected self.
Perhaps I can develop a crush on you
later that makes the tension between
us kind of weird.

HUGH JACKMAN
Sure, bub. What's your power?

ANNA PAQUIN
I can pout.
(pouting)
See? I am so alone and rejected
from this world. Boo hoo.

The whole thing is pretty funny and it's at http://ter.air0day.com/index.php?script=xmen.

"Pretty funny"? That is the most hilarious thing I've seen all day. I would say all week, but last night's Daily Show was a good one.

It's a laugh riot from beginning to end, but I particularly liked this:

JAMES MARSDEN
We're X-men. I have the ability to
take up part of any given frame of a
movie yet seem like I'm not here at
all thanks to my zero dimensional
personality.

HALLE BERRY
I am a master of the script. I can
recite lines word for word from the
screenplay without any emotion at
all.

Hahahaha! Poor Scott.

Yeah. I may torture the poor guy mercilessly in my fiction, but at least I give him a personality, a few jokes, and occasional sexual satisfaction. And that's a lot more than Bryan Singer gave him!

I'll say this for James Marsden, though: he has nice cheekbones.
