Something I Keep Forgetting to Mention
that caused great amusement at the time. Zara and I were walking along a sidewalk going by a warehouse and there was a man with a forklift. And he had boxes he was lifting with the forklift and in the boxes were forks!

The fork lift guy was amused, too, but I think he was mostly amused at us laughing.

Fun! I will share this with Ian tomorrow as another example of irony.

Did you know there are four kinds of irony? I helped Uncle Ruth's David prep for a quiz on irony in Animal Farm last year and we went through the book looking for examples of the different kinds. Of course now I don't remember what they are...

I did not know that. But I would guess this is the same kind as when maintainence recycled my recycle box.

Best day ever! It could have only been improved if you were in Forks and the forklift lifting fork in Forks was lifting forks in a lift.

When I lived in North Dakota, we were 40 miles from Grand Forks. I wonder if there are Grand Fork Lifts there.

Do you know Flanders and Swann? They were a wonderful English comic song duo from the 50s and 60s. Flanders was in a wheelchair and described having to be put into a plane once with a forklift. "Imagine, such an enormous machine, just to lift forks."

Flanders and Swann are probably best remembered for their Hippopotamus Song, though it is not their only wonderful song:
