Nonpolitical, Nonpartisan and Nonsectarian
This cracked me up. He didn't realize it wasn't a "nonpolitical, nonpartisan, and nonsectarian" event? I'd think the name ("Reclaiming America for Christ") of the conference would have been a good clue.

In his defense, there is a liberial Christian tradition in this country as well. And also a lot of efforts toward interfaith and interdenominational disalogue.

Just sayin'

Oh absolutely. But "Reclaiming America for Christ" is both sectarian and political, because it promotes an exclusively Christian country - a country with an Establishment Clause in its constitution.

It wasn't "Being Christian in 21st Century" or "Living Our Christian Faith in America" - neither of which would be problematic, by the name. Who are they reclaiming the country from?

Try it with another religion and it becomes clearer, perhaps. Would "Reclaiming America for Muhammed" be viewed as non-sectarian, non-political and non-partisan? I don't think so.
