It shocks me that there really are people who are still buying what he has to sell, when he's about-faced what he had to sell in just a few days. To go from 26 years of calling for deregulation and just last week insisting the fundamentals of the economy are sound to now he's going to solve the crisis he just noticed through "ending greed" and regulating Wall Street - are Republicans really that stupid?
Yes. They think Pailn is an acceptable candidate. Worse, they think Palin is an acceptable human being. They'll believe anything, apparently.

Which I guess is okay because there aren't enough Republicans to win this one. I just hope that Independents and Democrats don't go along with them and that they don't cheat as they did in 2000. I am so scared they will steal another election, one we cannot afford to lose after all the damage they've already done.
I just found out that my uncle loves Palin and thinks she's just what this country needs. I'm horrified. I'm also not sure if I can ever face him again without bursting into laughter.
See, that's what astonishes me. No one would actually want the janitor from your building at work to be President. You might joke about it, but you'd think that you might want someone smart, educated, literate, with some drive and ambition, and some worldly knowledge. The idea of Palin being one (fragile, elderly, and weakening) heartbeat from the Presidency TERRIFIES me. Literally, the inmates would have taken over the asylum.

My redneck uncle (whom I love despite our extreme difference in politics) believes a) that she's "just like us" and b) that she's sexy. *throws up hands*
are Republicans really that stupid?
Umm...YES. Moreover they've worked diligently to ensure that the nation is also stupid, uneducated, and ignorant so they'll buy what they're selling this November. I can only hope this latest example of the Shrub's blatant dislike of facts or expert research will have some positive affect on the election. And remember, George doesn’t see any hypocrisy. When he and his buddies do it, “they’re taking their due,” and when anyone else does it, “it’s greed.”
Pot, meet Kettle…Geesh!
I didn’t watch the address myself (no television no watchie) but I can’t even get into reading about it without becoming so upset I end up wandering around the apartment, muttering to myself, wringing my hands with a dish towel. (And when a six foot man does it, it’s kind of scary.) We’ve been spending billions on a war we shouldn’t be in, and have been involved in for longer than the sum of our occupation during World War II. Meanwhile our economic policy has been, ‘everything fine, keep shopping.’ What?
Greed by the way, George, is pandemic in our society. Everyone thinks they deserve their Mc.Mansion and Mc.SUV weather they have the financial stability to pay for them or not, and banks have been happily lending American’s more money than we can pay back in our lifetimes to line their own pockets. Your advisors should know all about it, because they perfected it!
I’m not including Fanny May or Freddie in that, they actually go out on a limb to help middle and lower income families get into modest homes. I’m actually OK with the government giving them aid, and helping to regulate that important function. Unfortunately that means, everyone is lining up for the same hand out…Or should I say, their due.
Unfortunately, my grandmother was right: Sooner or later, everyone’s bill comes due.

Republicans really that stupid?
Some of them just think that Obama is sooooooo bad that they'll take anything. And some of them are just die-hard Republicans who could never imagine voting for the "evil" party. *shrug* I know plenty of them, but I couldn't explain it to you because I don't really understand it myself.
In a nutshell: yes.
I swear, Republicans only retain the last thought or buzz phrase they just heard. My own father included.
My stepmother actually believed, and was impressed with, the "fact" that Palin sold the executive jet on e-bay.
