She even used complete sentences. They were clearly all given to her, rehearsed and parroted, but with "lots of expression" (as kids are taught to read out loud) and a big smile. What she said generally didn't answer the questions (does she even know what the phrase "Achilles Heel" means?) and there was little substance to her remarks. What substance there was was the tired old Republican mantra of lower taxes and lower regulation ("get government out of the way of business") and everything will be okay, with apparently no awareness of the results of those policies. Still, to many, just not being fodder for a Tina Fey parody was a win for Sarah Palin. I hope enough Americans are smart enough to realize what they'd get in a McCain/Palin administration, smart enough to vote for Obama/Biden, but my lingering fear is that Barnum was right.
