What I was saying is that there are a lot of people who will only pick out the parts about abortion, whether pro or con, minimizing the other issues. I just wish more people would speak up about the other issues instead of every post I see being about the abortion issue again. If I bring anything up it's put down as selfish because I'm disabled and haven't had insurance for three years because I'm "uninsurable" for having those disabilities. I can't wait any longer for this country to get it's act together and have to move to the one state that has universal healthcare, even though I can't afford the move by a longshot but can't afford to live without the healthcare any longer. While everyone quibbles over abortion, again.

I don't know that everyone is "quibbling over abortion." I think it's a crying shame that the federal government doesn't pay for abortions, but even the left wing of the Democratic party isn't trying to overturn that. Some people on the right within the Democratic party and a lot of people in the Republican party tried to make abortion an issue in federal health care in spite of the fact that it was not covered by government funds in any version of the proposed bill. I don't think that's quibbling over abortion; I think it's using abortion as an excuse to not provide health insurance. Which is what the article I linked to said, only better. And I'm glad it didn't work.

That's what I meant. It shouldn't be something that's "the" issue. Deal with the whole as a whole or in parts but don't pick out this one thing that's been argued about since the '70's. Again. It's to the point of ridiculous. Pick another thing to argue about, you know? Or, maybe you don't agree. I'm just tired of the argument.
