The Dangers I Had Pass’d (What’s Past is Prologue 5/18)|
I like it that you deal with teenagers so seriously and sympathetically. It's one of the things I love about the movies, and I like it in your fic, too.
But Scott, Scott. **clucking tongue** Not the best advice, imho. Didn't he learn anything from his own decision to lie to Oliver?

I thought you were waiting until the whole thing was posted! Anyway, I agree that Scott is not doing so well on the advice front. He's under a lot of stress and not functioning too well at the moment.
I think he and Jean gave good advice earlier when they told RoseAnn she didn't have to disclose anything she didn't want to, that her background was hers to tell or not. But when she comes to him clearly uncomfortable with what's going on with her and Jamie and upset about the secrecy I think he'd do better to counsel her on how to explain to Jamie - or even how not to tell him without lying to him - than just saying better not to say.
I don't know that there is a good solution to this one, though. RoseAnn is clearly digging herself into a hole by lying to Jamie. Still, I don't know that Never Been Kissed Jamie would have done well with the truth...

I couldn't bear waiting any longer!! Post post post! See, I knew I'd end up all impatient and shit.
Anyway, yes, Scott is clearly distracted. He should have told Adam to wait outside while he finished talking to RoseAnn. But he's got the whole killing Daddy thing on his mind.

Yeah, patricide can screw up your judgment if you dwell on it too much...
