Okay, so I'm the last person in the world to see Star Wars

My son and I went to Episode III: Revenge of the Sith last night. Third time for him, first for me. He obviously enjoyed it, or he wouldn't have seen it three times in one weekend. I liked it a lot, too.

I thought that it was really in the spirit of the original series and does a good job of tying them to the prequels. Ewan McGregor really bridges the portrayals beautifully - I felt like he was very convincingly the man who the young padawan of TPM became with years and experience, and simultaneously felt that he was vividly playing old Ben before he became old Ben. He clearly has watched a lot of Alec Guiness movies very carefully.

There was quite a bit of humor in the beginning, which I think even young kids would enjoy. There are some gruesome moments and a few very sad ones, but it's ultimately an uplifting story. The one weak link for me was the Anakin/Padme love story. They are just so wooden together that it didn't seem credible, at least to me.

As a diehard Qui/Obi fan, I was pleased to see that - even though Liam Neeson wasn't in the movie - there was a perfect moment for Q/O slash fen. All in all quite fun and it made me want to rewatch the original trilogy.
