A Fun Place to Visit

This place is just great! It’s a beautiful sculpture garden and museum in Princeton, NJ. There are many different pleasingly designed and expertly tended gardens, as well as some indoor exhibits. It’s almost all contemporary sculpture and mostly American artists. C, my daughters and I spent a very fun Sunday afternoon there.

My favorite works were by a sculptor I hadn’t heard of before: J. Seward Johnson. He’s done a number of sculptures based on famous paintings, often with whimsical touches. Because they are sculptures, you can be “in” the painting. For example, here’s one:

There were also peacocks wandering on the grounds. The icon is one I saw there.
