I LOL at the dream one.

Have we talked about Dick Francis? I think he's great.

I thought you'd say divorce was the worst thing that ever happened to you.

I don't think we have! I was in fact kind of embarrassed, because he's less "literary" than, say, Laurie King. But I adore his work and am busily acquiring it all so I can re-read it.

You know when you said (in yours) that some questions depend on "mood at the time?" I think that's definitely true of me -- and you can tell that I've more recently been interacting with family. I thought of the divorce, but at least it's past tense; this is ongoing.

I wouldn't read Dick Francis for a long time, since I'm not at all interested in horse-racing. But once I started I was sorry I'd been so resistant! I love how he researches something for each one and how he works the horses in, and I think a lot of his characters are really memorable.

I totally get what you mean about divorce vs. what's ongoing now, and about depending on mood. But I also think it's indicative of you really healing from the divorce. I don't think when we first met you could have said anything but, no matter what your mood, no matter what was happening.

What is your icon? I can tell it says "catch me" but have no idea what the picture is.

I think it's one of the HP book covers in an obscure (ie not my!) country. I know it's HP -- I suppose it's a little small, but if you blew it up you'd see a really nice drawing of Draco chasing Harry on broomsticks.

Yeah, I like Francis' careful research too. A friend of mine told me many years ago he thought the secret to a bestseller mystery was to give a good look at some new venue and how it works. He was into a charity auction that he thought would make a good backdrop for a mystery.

I think he was on to something.
