Something I Love
It might be of more interest to the older members of my f-list, but I recommend that all at least give it a try. It's called "Naked" and is this lovely mini-documentary on sex, soliciting the views of 11 people who, as the blurb says, are "old enough to know better." It was done as an online extra to yesterday's Sunday New York Times magazine and can be found at https://nytimes.com/magazine. The respondents range in age from late forties to early sixties. They vary in sexual orientation, interests, marital status, views on monogamy and other aspects of sex, health, and general wellbeing. They are all articulate, candid, fascinating people with things worth saying about sex. Try it and let me know what you think.

Re: couldn't get it :(

LOL! I'm told you really can't do it without broadband, also.

I read “The Times” on line and “The Magazine,” which in Michigan makes me a journalistic snob, but our home town news sources pale in comparison. (They down right suck conservative…) Honestly, I probably wouldn’t have paid much heed to the article had you not pointed it out, and I thank you for doing so.

I found it very reassuring it is to know that my business isn’t going to wizen and stop functioning at forty-five. In seriousness however, it was remarkably novel to hear about this topic from folks who are…over that age where sex activity is thought to be an urban myth. Usually we only hear from the MTV crowd, and watch them fumble along making text book mistakes. I found it refreshing to hear people speak intelligently on the topic, and unusual to hear both men and women speak frankly about their varying degrees of monogamy.

I’m fairly sure I watched all the bits separately as well as the finished edited piece; the only thing I thought distinctly lacking was a lesbian perspective…maybe I missed something along the way.

Of course maybe you gals are too busy having sex to talk about it. **wink**

P.S. For the folks having trouble with the link, you might need to sign up for the free on-line New York Times. The free account will give you sufficient access to “The Times” to read most of the important articles including “The Magazine.”

Yes, the lesbian perspective was sadly lacking. In fact, the only one who seemed to have any lesbian experience was the woman who says she's now involved with a man and completely uninterested in sex!
